What This Site Is

YT Comment GIF explains one thing: how to post a GIF in a YouTube comment. YouTube announced GIF comments in September 2026 and is rolling them out gradually, which leaves a lot of people looking at a comment box with no GIF button. This site keeps a short, current answer to that problem.

What You Will Find Here

• A browser extension. It adds a GIF button to YouTube comments on desktop. It is based on Desktop GIFs by rayytor, released under GPL-3.0, and our version is under the same license.
• Guides in the blog. Full walk-throughs with every install step and the errors you may run into.
• A comment GIF generator. A free tool that turns any comment into an animated GIF in your browser.

How the Guides Are Checked

Each page shows the date it was last checked. Facts come from YouTube's own announcements and from the documentation of the tools we describe, and we say so when a detail comes from an unofficial source. When YouTube changes how GIF comments work, the pages are updated and the date moves with them.
